Hume Castle Beacon Proposal

The Diamond Jubilee of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II  is being celebrated next year and the Lord Lieutenant of Berwickshire has suggested that Hume Castle would be an excellent place to have one of the Beacons that will cross the Border Hills.   I know that Duart Castle on the Isle of Mull has an excellent wrought iron basket beacon on one of the parapets and so we hope to install something similar for the event.   I expect that there will be considerable cross border liaison on this matter as well as on the Flodden  commemorations (although the English side will likely regard the latter as celebrations!).
